Rinse your brush under lukewarm water. Keep rinsing until the water runs clear and no dye remains. You may need to repeat a few times to remove all the dye.
An important step to give your JenJo brush longevity and maintain its form! Place the bristles between your index finger and second finger — first, gently squeeze excess moisture from the bottom of the bristles toward the end (or tip). Then with your fingers in the same position, starting from the bottom, reshape the brush bristles to its original shape. Squeeze a little harder as you get closer to the ends of the bristles to create a tight “point.”
Post-cleaning, lay your brushes flat on a clean towel and let them air-dry. Avoid using a blow dryer as excessive heat can damage the bristles. Patience is key — natural drying will preserve the integrity of your brushes. Ideally, you want to start your next project with a clean, dry brush.
Once your brushes are completely dry, store them in a cool, dry place. It's best to avoid jumbling them in a drawer or bristles down, where they can get deformed. Opt for a brush holder or hang them with the bristles facing upwards to maintain their shape.
JenJo ORIGINAL brushes will last you a long time (much longer than anything on the market), but brushes don't last forever. If you notice the bristles starting to fray, bend excessively, or fall out, it's time for a new JenJo brush. Keeping your artistic tools fresh ensures the best hair coloring results.
